Registration in the special register of the NGROD in Belgium

Dear veterinary surgeon,

If you are not legally established in Belgium, but in another Member State of the European Union, and you wish to practise veterinary medicine in Belgium without establishing yourself here, you must register in the special register of the Dutch-speaking Regional Council of the Order of Veterinary Surgeons (NGROD) in Belgium.

Documents required for your registration application

To process your registration application, we kindly ask you to provide the following documents:

  • The registration form, fully completed and signed
  • A copy of your legal qualification (diploma)
  • The service provider status, obtained from the FPS Public Health. More information is available on the FPS Public Health website.
  • A recent extract from your criminal record, not older than three months

Submitting your documents

You can send these documents by e-mail to info@ordederdierenartsen.be or by post to the following address:

NGROD
Driekoningenplein 12
9820 Merelbeke-Melle
Belgium

After your registration

After your file has been processed, you will receive your registration number and proof of registration, together with additional information. These will be sent by post to the address of your stated legal place of residence as well as by e-mail.

After registration in the special register of the NGROD, you are authorised to practise veterinary medicine in Belgium. No membership fee is due for this registration. Registration is valid for one year and is not automatically renewed. You must submit an application for renewal in good time via the FPS Public Health.
